The Arlington Center presents:

Bones for Life®/ Slow-Flow Yoga

East meets West
through our gentle yet rigorous approach to Slow-Flow Yoga and Bones for Life®

This ground breaking class offers mindful exercises that stimulate "strong bones, good posture and biological optimism". These complementary disciplines combine Eastern ancient healing traditions with contemporary Western neuroscience. The course is co-taught by Deborah Lotus and Portia Brockway, respected among the area's most seasoned somatic instructors.

Many baby boomers are sensibly afraid of your average yoga class. Now is the time to find a slow-flow yoga class, combined with the Feldenkrais approach, which together invite youthful flexibility, good health and high spirits. "Bones" / Yoga synergy provides a gentle yet rigorous approach to strengthening your bones while balancing your inner core.

Life-long bone building is stimulated when we "feed" our bones with the proper components: calcium-rich nutrition, proportional weight-bearing activity, optimal posture, and consistent pressure through the skeletal system; while gentle, slow-flowing yoga sequences promote supple vitality, grace and radiance from within. The class is structured 50/50 to create a new synergy and broader horizons in your practice and your life.

These processes improve the functioning of your feet, knees, hips, back, shoulders and neck/head alignment for dynamic safety. No matter what your age or gender, you have reason to be concerned about osteopenia and osteoporosis. "You are only as young as your bones are strong."* This somatic practice is great "health insurance" for people of all ages.
